I welcome you to my private practice between Jette and Ganshoren or online, to work with you in English on the changes that you wish to see appear in your life. I am a therapist for adults, and I offer individual consultations. My practice is based on your own unique experiences and goals, following your own pace. My practice is also a safe space for any and every person who is part of the LGBTQIA+ community 🏳️‍🌈

Usually, in the brief therapy workframe, the therapeutic process doesn't take more than 10 sessions.

I'm a psychologist (Master, ULB 2006), enrolled in the Commission des Psychologues de Belgique, and I abide to their code de déontologie

My aim is to help you (re)discover your ressources and competences, and to help you implement practical tools into your every day life, adapted to your own experience, so that you can stop "going in circles", as if you were reliving the same problems again and again.

If my approach inspires you, but you don’t live in Belgium or if you have difficulty coming to a consultation in Brussels, I also offer Skype consultations. For more information, please send me a message with the form at the bottom of this page.

On this website, you can find more information about the therapeutic tools I use. Most of the time I'll mix different approaches to best suit what you would like to work on. Don't hesitate to let me know if one approach seems very useful to you. Usually, our intuition guides us to what we need the most.

My therapeutic approaches

Brief Therapy Brussels

Brief therapies

"Brief therapies" is an umbrella term that covers many collaborative techniques designed to offer the quickest, most complete, and most lasting relief from the problem.

This tool is interactive. The patient and the therapist define together what exactly the problem is, and the strategies that the patient's already tried to solve it. Once the problem is defined, the patient is invited to co-create and test out new approaches to the problem.

Brief therapies are... brief, and yet quite efficient. They allow people to find their way toward problem-solving, owning their new-found equilibrium, empowered in their relationship to themselves and others.

EMDR

HTSMA is a somewhat barbaric french acronym that stands for "Hypnotherapy, Strategic Therapies, and Alternating Movements". It's a full-on approach alternating between conversational moments and EMDR-based movements.

In an HTSMA session, our base point is your physical and emotional sensations, and their intensity. From there, we can work on trauma-based issues, phobias, chronic pain or illness, grief, and anxiety.

Narrative therapy

Narrative therapy was created by a genious australian social worker named Michael White. It is one of my favourite therapeutic tools. In a seamless conversational inquiry, it opens a space to allow people to reconnect to their value system, to feel what it really is like to be themselves, and to get reacquainted with their ressources, abilities, strengths, that became hidden, denied, or lost through suffering.

The person is invited to develop a different life narration, taking the driver's seat as the author of their story, thereby creating a more integrative, whole, gentle and empowering relationship to their life.

Mindfulness Meditation

After a few stays in buddhist temples in Asia, I started including elements of mindfulness practice within therapy sessions, with great results.

Mindfulness generally helps people (re)develop their being-with-themselves muscle, going back to the present moment, nonjudgementally, nonapologetically, and effortlessly. Just being there, and observing what is happening. This practice is particularly interesting to treat anxiety and insomnia.

I've been teaching mindfulness / relaxation workshops at ULB and medical centers in Brussels since 2013.

Solution-focused Therapy

Solution-focused therapy opens new pathways towards concrete and positive change, by focusin on your (sometimes forgotten or hidden) strengths and past successes to build a desired future, based on your goals.

This interactive and collaborative approach will allow you to become the architect of your lifestory. Every session offers an opportunity to reinforce your self-confidence and to find concrete solutions to move forward towards the changes you want.

Somatic Experiencing

My practice includes techniques inspired by Somatic Experiencing, which is an approach centered on the connection between mind and body, to help the nervous system heal from stress and trauma. By exploring how those experiences are stored in the body, we will work together on liberating tensions and restore the natural balance of your nervous system.

This modality offers tools that will help you learn to truly connect to your physical sensations and body responses with kindness, to help the nervous system heal from stress and trauma.
